Spot on with this video Greg, clearly over these 3 years I have made mistakes on measuring my body fat (need your laser eye for the following years).

Joe’s problem is that he starts to bulk then can’t deal with gaining much body fat so cuts again.

I see this problem a lot in the natty community, Alex Eubank has the same problem doing a bulk that's not worth while because they get scared once they start losing their abs and go straight back to 'main gaining' .. Nattys cling to their abs because without them they lose their ability to make 'instagram worthy' pictures, though I'd argue that their community would love to see the proces of them fully committing to a proper bulk.

He's not regressing. He just basically maxed out, perhaps temporarily. There's an individual limit to the amount of lean tissue a person can put on before stalling and his may be at the stats shown. His newbie gains pretty much came to an end, particularly with the limited amount of calories he's consuming. Which goes to my second point, maingaining is nonsensical for a teenager. If you wanna grow as much muscles as you possibly can naturally then you gotta eat big for a couple of years on end, then cut down. Just like how the oldtime strongmen & bodybuilders did. Maingaining is ideal for people on steroids because in enhanced lifters the steroids are the driving force for lean tissue growth, which means calories intake can remain balanced, and steady gains still happen for a much longer period of time.

Joe is actually leaner than what the stats say on the screen. Although it is more common for people to underreport their BF%, body dysmorphia is not uncommon as sometimes we are our own worst critic. I think Joe is one of those guys who's actually too modest and looks down on himself a lot. I'm sure many guys would kill for his physique whether they want to admit it or not.

He hasn’t bulked enough, that’s why. Maingaing doesn’t work, I don’t care what Greg says. I’ve made more progress in one year doing a long slow bulk than I did in my first 3 trying to recomp.

If you’re struggling to stick to the bulk I recommend getting a coach, getting one has personally helped me so much I was stuck in the cycle of bulking and cutting every 3 months making and losing the gains I made in that time frame. It’s not healthy long term you’re messing around with your hormones constantly. I am currently at a higher bf than I’d like and struggling with body dysmorphia but my coach has kept me accountable and is there for reassurance I have started to trust the process and have seen good progress doing so.

Just not ideal genetics, he works hard, better than 95%, but compared to the expectations of the beholders within the fitness community he just doesent hold up to the standards. Personally, im 6'5 210 lbs lean, and was stronger than him when i was 16-17, (1, 5 years ago) Almost 19 now and from the content he has showed i work a bit less for more results. This just shows how high the expectations are. Im top teir genetics and i dont even have the balls to make content and post on social media, so i respect Joe for this, but he isnt Jeff Seid or any of the freaks of nature we are used to.

To be fair Joe Fazer has never really committed to a proper prolonged bulk, it's always these bulk "challenges" for content. He hasn't spent a good 18-24 months in a gradual surplus. He's always been relatively lean.

I cannot believe a juice head that sounds like a 10 year old is really talking about people making mistakes 😂😂

I've been maingaining for almost 2 years thanks to coach Greg and I genuinely feel amazing, pretty much eat whatever I want and not to mention I've put on 13 pounds. I appreciate this channel so much 🙏

His strength gains are awsome for a natural bodybuilder at intermediate level, after few years of training you cannot expect to keep adding 50 lbs on your bench press. He just didn't estimate his body fat percentage accurately but he definitely gained significant amount of muscles

I have to say me also being:

20 years old
6'5
112kg bw
20% bf
200kg squat
210kg deadlift
155kg bench

I started training around the same time as joe looking back at his older videos and I took the opposite approach and hard dirty bulked for the past 3 years and have recently started cutting and where as joe being leaner looks visibly better In his current state I would argue my strength level and relative lean muscle mass using this method has increased a lot more substantially (genetics have played a role) I feel joe would have been in a better off position to (not to shoot down joe) if he had bulked up further to say 17/18% bf or maybe utilized mini cuts to be in a better spot to build muscle as a natural lifter. this in the end would allow him to after a successful cut have a greater muscle memory thanks to the extra mass added during the bulk as I feel under 20% bf and above 13% bf is where 'most' lifters will be in the best place to build muscle not only from a calorie point but also for testosterone reasons

no hate on joe 😅

Dude I didn’t make massive gains until i was 23-28. I went from 6’6 250lbs at 20%bf to 6’6 315lbs with 17% BF. I wasn’t even lifting consistently during that either. My metabolism slowed enough that when I ate right in the right quantities, worked out 3-4x a week, SLEPT WELL, I just exploded in growth to the point I was unrecognizable.

Genetic limit reached, it happens sooner for some.

I noticed that too. He got his stats completely wrong in a way that severely undersold him
