Flight and Cabin Crews, including overseas staff, are very knowledgeable about their allowances both while on duty and off, so playing the "ignorance card" doesn't fly. The fact that he only speaks Urdu is largely irrelevant, i.e. it's a lie, because they International language of Commerce and Aviation is English. The only reason educated people suddenly don't speak English is because they think it's to their advantage to pretend that's the case.

Border agents need to be clear respectful communicators, while speaking from a position of authority. A difficult balance that not everone can achieve.
