Dark Academia is a popular (and the original) academic aesthetic that revolves around classic literature, the pursuit of self-discovery, and a general passion for knowledge and learning. It is one of several iterations of the Academia aesthetic, each having a unique subject focus.

Dark Academia's visuals stem primarily from upper-class European cultures of the 19th century, Gothicism, and American Prep. The upper class of this time period emphasized a liberal education in which Latin, rhetoric and classics were taught subjects. These are now seen as unusual and slightly esoteric, creating an allure that presents schooling as not dreary or boring, but one that cultivates mystery, curiosity, and diligence that isn't commonly seen in contemporary schooling.

While I'm listening, I'm starting to feel the slow disappearance of stress and the magnificent effect of peace.

I cannot say how perfect this is; I just sat down to write the scene in book where the villain shows up and it is full of darkness and drama. This could not have been more appropriate. I kid you not, it is starting to thunderstorm as I write this. Thank you all for this! It is the best soundtrack as I write.

I love playing these masterpieces while I work. I work from home and wear a headset all day. Most of the week it's silent. Being able to have this playing in the background of my mind while I do my boring, repetitive work has helped me so much! Thank you!

The door with trees on either side is the north door of St. Edwards Church in Gloucestershire, England which is said to have inspired the Doors of Durin leading into Moria in _The Lord of the Rings_ by Prof. J.R.R. Tolkien.

‘The Doors of Durin, Lord of Moria. Say “friend” and enter. I, Narvi, made them. Celebrimbor of Hollin drew these signs.’

Excellent classical collage of music to this theme…dark but….romantic…though sad…at the same time…also….deeply bathed…in emotion 🥲

Music like this is so strong.... it reminds me that I have to go visit the grave of my first child which I lost 4 years ago, gotta go tell him that we just learned yesterday that he'll have a little sister!

lets just say the music touch my soul deep inside where my inner child live in. The cry, the whipper, the tear falling down to my cheek. I wonder how much longer I need to keep on living? Daily life passing by each person to this world, taking their soul and rest them on the ground, yet my soul linger in this borrowing world... When truly I will be free from the chant of fate? No, no... That's not the script my child... Take a deep breath before closing your eyes, surely one day you wouldn't have to open it again... Sleep tight dearly one, may God ease your pain.

The best selection of music, congratulations.
My grandmother is German and I learned to play the piano with her in Brazil. I learned to like classical music from my father, since I was a child.

I enjoy this so much. Music and lyrics are something different entirely. I love both, but it takes a certain kind of mind to understand the story and feeling that comes from simply the music. No words and voices, but just the beautiful waves and tones of the notes and how they blend together to make their own story and feeling given to the listener. I am so glad that still, in 2022, these classics won't be forgotten.
