FSD Beta V10.0.1 First Drive on test loop - only small improvements.

I noticed small improvements in smoothing some turns, acceleration from stop signs and stop lights, better following distance through traffic lights. Still had issues with diagonal cross traffic, and inconsistent creeping behavior.

Great video Kim - it's probably really hard for the cameras to figure out whether a truck at an intersection is parked or part of traffic. If we look back 6 months, it is very good progress.

8:50 This is unacceptable. Didn’t even slow down for the pedestrian that it could see clearly in front of the car. Definitely hope the Autopilot team takes a look at this disengagement.

14:00 FSD is trying to lineup behind those cars because it thinks those cars are waiting for the Stop sign to go. Doesn't recognize that they are in designated parking spots because there are Stop Sign on both side of the street. Redundant signage is tricking the system so the developers have to code for that scenario.

Nice drive Kim. In my opinion, loops like showing that difficult cross traffic at an angle turn are GOOD to leave IN, for viewers who are trying to assess FSD Beta's progress for edge cases.

Thanks for the video. I don’t blame Car makers for not making this autonomous driving ready by now as this is way more complicated than we could imagine. I only blame some car makers for claiming that they could make it happen soon which put a lot of drivers under wrong impression and caused a lot of accidents and death. We are still far away from that.

To my eyes it looked smoother and more confident than previous builds, excluding the tricky square area and diagonal traffic, which still kind of confuses me (maybe it would make sense if I was there in person). So, not big changes, but the things that were good before seem just a bit better. Thanks for letting us ride along :-)

Another great test. Clearly a challenging environment for FSD. Loved your comment about a 2-way street with only room for one car. As I understand it the British countryside has narrow road sections and small bridges that are just like that. The event at 14:04 was odd because the path arrow consistently showed a path along the open lane to the right of the two parked cars yet when the car moved it looked like it was trying to get behind the white SUV. I have not seen that sort of behavior in other tester videos in that the car always turned to align with the direction of the path arrow unless the arrow was jumping around. It could be that was coincidence and I'm attaching too much of a coupling between the path arrow and steering. Good thing you intervened.

First time watching your testing. Thanks for the new update. Def a difficult road. I would prefer if you used your turn signals every time, but understand you're preoccupied. But, it does make me worry about the Beta button release and how stressed the human will be on the takeover. Indicators help both humans and AI.

great video. it looks like there your FSD/ the car is not functioning well, comparing to others beta guys. 14:10 definitely demonstrate the problem that should not happen even by previous version.

Good commentary. I like how you test such difficult senecios. You’re the first female I’ve seen testing so that’s great as well. Have you tried adjusting the follow distance to see if that helps with the lag in execration at lights? Have you checked out the Tesla diva group?
