“ 1 second is a lot in swimming” truest thing I ever heard as a swimmer, some people think that it is a bit but it is so much

If he doesn’t end up tall, it’ll be hard for him to be competitive in the olympics. Michael is built to swim, long arms, long torso, short legs, big feet/hands and tall.

"Swimming is hard. A lot of people think it looks easy but it's very hard and it's very technical." Most true statement I've heard in my 7 years of competitive swimming :)

edit: why are people still liking and commenting on this

Instead of calling him Superman call him Aquaman

even though clark is truly fast and recognized by everyone in pacific swimming before, but now nationally, he is still like the rest of us. sometimes during warm up, i see him with an anxious face when he’s at Junior Olympics and Far Westerns. that kid has a down to earth personality, which my younger friend appreciates to have before his events. sure he is 11, and other people say “oh, he’s not that fast for his age, ” but also realize he’s still so fast, much faster than most people at his age.

Hopefully he can get pass the "stagnant" period.
Alot of young talented athletes got burnt out when they peaked too fast or early.
Only a handful can get pass that stage.
Staying mentally strong and keep motivated is very important especially in swimming because its an individual sports unlike team sports.
And the variety and the repeating of doing the same thing can get ones down easily.
Respect to those who can get through these.

“We usually do butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle all in one practice” uhh yeah those are the strokes..

•I am a swimmer•
we do a 200 im drill in our warmup. we focus freestyle at the beginning and usually go into some IM, yes sometimes we focus one stroke, but i’m saying working all strokes isn’t a big achievement.

The fact that his name is Clark Kent shows that he was destined to be a GOD

You can tell how fast he is now but at the end of the day what matters is that you grow the right way

He still keeps swimming and although not best in his group or even the team now. Isn’t that the harder part? I bet he is under a lot of pressure physically and psychologically. Respect for him.

Good job clark. No matter what, keep working hard. A lot of people might get cocky or their efforts decay due to their achievements. Don't let that happen to you, work harder and harder man, you are very talented. Congratulations on your record and other achievments!
