Simple cleaning tips for lazybones

1. Why everyone needs to have WD-40 in there apartment (00:20)
WD-40 is actually a very handy product that will make your everyday life easier. It is the best solution to remove a chewing gum from almost any surface. Just spray a liberal amount on the gum and gently remove it with a cloth.

It will also come in handy to remove these stubborn ugly stickers from cans and jars. With WD-40 you will need a couple of seconds to do so.

WD-40 is very useful in cleaning marker stains from walls, floors and even sofa covers. Spray some WD-40 on a stain and remove it with a wet cloth. Easy!

2. Cleaning with Coca-Cola (02:10)
Is you toilet dirty, but you don't have a toilet cleaner? Open a fridge and take a bottle of Cola! Yes, don't be surprised! Coca-cola is great removing rust and common dirt - why not to think twice drinking it? %)
Another little but handy trick: attack a toilet brush to a drill. It will make the cleaning process much faster.

3. How to clean the whole kitchen with an ordinary lemon
Lemon is not only a tasty and healthy fruit to eat, but a great natural helper in your cleaning routine. It can help you remove calcium from an electric kettle. Just cut half of a lemon in smaller pieces, place them inside a kettle, add some water and boil it.
Take another half to clean a dirty oily pan. Lemon acid will easily dissolve the oil and remove bad food odors from a frying pan.

Clogged drain is not a problem anymore! Put some baking soda in a drain and add lemon juice. Wait for one hour. It works perfectly and smells nice!

Coke works to clean rust because coke is acidic, and rust is a metal oxide; a base (alkali).

When acids and alkali meet, they neutralise each other, forming a chemical salt (not table salt), and water.

acid + base salt + water

However, if you wait too long the acid will start corroding the metal itself. This forms a chemical salt, but because it is now just metal and not a metal 'oxide', there is no oxygen to react into water. Instead, hydrogen is created.

acid + metal salt + hydrogen

One way you could test this is by doing the spanner-in-coke thing in a closed environment. Then, put a lit match inside without letting the gas escape. If there is a 'sqeaky pop', you'll know lots of hydrogen has been produced, and you should take the spanner out of the coke to prevent too much corrosion.
