One SIMPLE Mod to Increase Your CRV’s Utility

RD1 CRV Rear Seat Bed
By Aaron Gaghagen
Overlanding can be tiring. Wandering the terrain and being all outdoorsy is hard work. OK, maybe not that hard, but sometimes you may want to kickback and chill or catch some Zzzzs. Bringing a tent and setting it up can be a pain. Plus, it's just more crap to lug around. Who needs that? (Definitely not Carter since he's running on three cylinders!) Luckily Honda in their infinite wisdom has it covered. Many first generation CR-Vs came with rear seat mechanisms that allow them to lay nearly flat with the front seats down to make a lounge or a bed. Carter's CR-V did not come with these magical seats. Our buddy Jason Davidson shows us how to take out the normal rear seats and install the upgraded ones.

Nothing but Hondas. That’s exactly what you’ll find at VTEC Academy. Because Soichiro Honda’s passion for motorsports and his company’s ability to express that in the machines they produce make a whole lot of sense. VTEC Academy is a place for Honda fans who feel the same way and who seek the most accurate technical information and commentary to continue that very legacy and make whatever Honda it is that they drive just a little bit better. And faster.
