So I've been having the exit code 1 problem for three days, and I've tried everything YouTube suggested as many have, none of them worked for me, though that shouldn't stop people for trying since they did work for a lot of other people, but also a lot of people have had the same problem I had so eventually I got tired of trying and shipped my problem off to my sister, she went to the curse forge support button thing and then typed in exit code 1, and into minecraft mod errors, and then she downloaded all the apps that said would help, you don't have to download all of them you can download one and see if it works and then move on to the next but anyway that worked, if this doesn't work for you, it might have to do with your device and not the app itself.

P.S I'm commenting this on every video that people said nothing worked.

I've have a huge problem for a few days. It all probably started after the last launcher update. The game started sometimes and sometimes didn't, and "exit code: 1" appeared, and sometimes my computer restarted. However, we still managed to play occasionally for a few days. I have been playing for 4 years on version 1.16.5 with a permanent, unchanged mod pack. A few days ago it stopped turning on at all. All attempts ended with a computer reset. I uninstalled all mods except forge 36.2.39. Minecraft has started. I started adding one mod at a time. It turned out that the culprit was Inventory Tweaks. The game started for me with all the other mods. Today I tried to look for a similar mod to inventory tweaks. I found inventory profiles next. I installed it. Exit code 1 popped up. I deleted it again. The game stopped starting. I removed all mods except forge mod. The game does not start. I tried running clean version 1.16.5 without forge mod. The game does not start. I deleted all minecraft and reinstalled it. I ran 1.16.5 vanilla. I repeated the operation several times, because sometimes the game started and sometimes the computer was reset. I decided to install several other versions of forge 36.2.20, 36.2.29, 36.2.39, 36.2.34. Similar effect. I installed java 17. The effect is the same. Now I can't even run pure Minecraft 1.16.5 because it freezes and resets my computer. I don't know what to do anymore.
The most interesting thing is that on the second, older computer, where the same minecraft 1.16.5 and the same mods are installed. To be sure, I only removed this inventory tweaks mod. The game starts. The difference between the computers is that the old one still has Win 7 (I have Win10) and the launcher has not been updated. i made a new modpack for a test with no mods (forge) and i get the error with no mods everytime. when i try to run forge i get the error but fabric mods it runs fine

So if you go to curseforge settings and turn on the debug log and put skip minecraft launcher(beta) it will work atleast for me i finally got a pop up Essentially i wasnt logged into minecraft in the curseforge app and it wasnt telling me. Weird but yeah it gave me a access code for curseforge and to give it permissions through microsoft and now is resolved. This is strange tho because i was able to play other modpacks with no problem.

Alright so everyone this is what worked for me and it works consistently now I tried to play all the mods 9 and whenever I would join a server it would crash apparently loading the mod pack and joining the realm is the most delicate time for it. When you open the launcher allocate more memory to it check your task manager and go to performance and see how much ram you have available and then in the launcher go to the custom pack and then installations and then edit. After that go down to Java arguments you’ll see two xmx, and xms change the number to persay you have 24 gigabytes of ram you would put 14G or 24G I had 22 available and used 16G when you’re loading it don’t click or do anything let it sit and then it’ll load I would assume the lower amounts of memory you allocate the longer it takes. 🙂 if you don’t have a lot of memory then idk what to do from there.
