Many in eastern Ukraine have been living with conflict for years as fighting between Russian-backed separatists and Ukrainian forces killed estimated thousands of people.
As the latest international standoff continues, prospects for peace in the region are looking even more fragile.
People in Avdiivka have learned to live to the rhythm of the frontline - but the devastating effect of this long war will continue to impact their lives, many say, for several generations to come

The fact that the Russian public is not protesting to pull back it's 100k troops says a lot, they either support or doesn't care if Russia takes over Donbass or the entirety of Ukraine, so please don't say the public/ordinary Russians are innocent..
