Have you heard about the story of The Fisherman and the banker? The Parable Of The Mexican Fisherman And Investment Banker is a classic story about financial freedom, work-life balance, and the relationship between wealth and happiness. Hey legends, John here. From next month onwards, this channel will be switching permanently to longer documentary style videos (like the James Jani / Amazon videos on this channel... but even better). I've been building a small team to help me, so that I can hopefully post at least 2 really epic (200+ hour productions) documentaries every month. The goal is to make Netflix quality content, but post it free on YouTube.



However, before the switch next month, I have a bunch of other unique videos & ideas I wanna share with you (like this one). So if you're only here for the documentaries, don't worry, from June onwards that's all this channel will be posting. For me, making gobs of money really boils down to one thing. That thing is comfort. Knowing that I have the ability to do what I want when I want. It is not about living an ideal day. For me, it is about living a spontaneous life of adventure. Any adventure on any given day. Being able to do something on a whim is my ideal life.

Hearing the story of the banker and fisherman is kinda what I’m going through: I got laid off a few month ago and started doing deliveries for DD. I ended paying all my debts (with some help with backlog PTO) and is currently debt free.

I only do a few deliveries to make a minimum to keep me steady, otherwise I’m just chilling in my apartment and taking a much need break. I hear stories about drivers that go 10-13 hours a day. Usually i work only about 2-3 hours on average. It’s doesn’t always have to be about the raw number

I was briefly a babyssitter to children of one of the most prominent and affluent families in my country. the family had humble roots, the kids were extremely mature and the parents were quite grounded and respectful. they lived in a giant house and the father worked closely with the government and just one single contract would earn him about $1 million. however… the kids would always complain how they never get to see their dad. their mom tried her best to be both the father and the mother, which would tire her out greatly. he’d own all these cars yet he barely had time to drive them. their kids would enter sports competitions constantly (not specifying for safety purposes) and they’d cry how their father is never there to cheer them on. _it really is not worth it_
