The Nintendo Next Generation Stuff Is Already Out of Control

After roughly 24 hours of talks around an apparent final development kit being sent out, an image was circulating showing that developers are seeing NX2 pop up, but is it actually real?

Even if it were a place holder, calling it NX 2 is not like Nintendo. I would almost foresee "Next Platform" or something along that verbage as a place holder. I think once we start hearing rumours of what the code name will actually be, we can start getting excited.

Hopefully Nintendo uses that modular design they had patented years ago, where you can improve compute power with a modular device that has its own cpu, gpu and memory that. Imagine a Dock with a cpu, gpu and ram that increases the switch 2’s compute power while docked.

The clearly fake stuff getting spread around is why we constantly have people aggressively attacking others in Spawnwave's comments for believing in the legitimate leaks that come from the repeatedly reliable sources. It also doesn't help that since some leakers only get partial information they like to play this in-between game, so they can claim they where right when something was finally announced. Like the people who got info on the Switch OLED, but didn't have all the details so they let people hype up a Switch Pro and then spent a month damage controlling all the angry people by saying "I never said it was a pro". Just trying to ignore the fact they also didn't try to correct anyone hyping it up as a pro model.

Iwata-san announced a NX "smart device" years ahead of the Switch, YongYea actually has the NX announcement still archived on his channel, it was probably a working title for a prototype that later on lead to the Switch or something else completely. Also that NX 2 icon in your screenshot was copy pasted in an image editing software.

Well I wouldn’t be surprised if they show it in September if it backwards compatible because u can play all those announcements games with maybe with two new games .

I wouldn't be surprised if the 'NX2' is basically a Switch 2 in the sense that it's like a Switch Pro. A next gen Switch that has the same form factor as the Switch and the JoyCon and game cartridges are backwards compatible.
