IMO, the ‘mother’ association isn’t literal. The metaphorical meaning is more important. Example: I asked Hekate what her ‘reality’ was like, and she ‘told’ me (via a pendulum board) ‘like wombs’. My interpretation: at the crossroads, when we choose a path, that represents a birth, rebirth, or death. Hekate empowers this process in accordance to our free will. I like imagining this process is analogous to parents encouraging their baby to walk…when the baby falls, you encourage the child to stand back up and take another step. Jeremiah, thank you as always. Would love to hear your analysis of what ‘free will’ means to you.

I have been told by the tarot reader that I trust and who is an occult practitioner herself that Hekate can be my patron deity, since then I started to read everything valid I could find about her, watching videos, yours included. And I realized that she is so much more than what is said about her. Recently I started reading a poem to her every day, just so you know build up the devotion and connection, because I want to make it part of my life. I drew her a picture and am planning to make a candle myself, specifically to her. Last night I saw dogs in my dream and I almost never do. I hope it is a hint from her.

When I find myself looking for her, I realize she is right behind me or above me, next to me all around me and within. When think of dark Goddess or like Kali Ma, I realize that Kali Ma is a form of Hekate as well. It’s like I sit in the middle and I am Morrigan Hekate. Yes confusing but Hekate all the same. She wants me to focus on her and understand the “feathers” we hold

This is also what observe with Hecate and Lucifer that they never judge . Before I though that Demons are those kind of entities that we see on movies will whisper to your ear “you did that and this and you are bad” but never once heard that judgement from Lucifer or Hecate but they will tell me what the problem about me but not in a way attacking me as a person or judging me to the core. Anyway, I never see Hecate as Mother or Lucifer as Father . I both see them respectful teachers . And also I believe Hecate is not like other people see as a “Mother” because there is a different aspect of her that you can only understand when you don’t see her as “mother” maybe, not all can relate.

Great point about projection. I've never felt good enough for my mom. As a result, I've stressed myself out trying to "be perfect enough" to work with Hekate. She continuously pushes me to show up in my raw, chaotic form. For that, and for so many other reasons, I am so grateful for the goddess.

I am from San Diego but live in Florida now. I felt called to work with Hecate some time ago but quickly fell into the fear of her when I learned about her disapproval. I definitely have the mother wound going on but after watching this I have strengthened my resolve towards cultivating a relationship with her and diving much deeper into my subconscious to heal.

Having the worst day, everything is breaking down or going wrong. I sat down to make a string of prayer beads for Hekate that I have been putting off and got into an inner dialogue that I deserve this, I’m not doing enough, if I get this right I’ll be forgiven, I’ve done something to upset Hekate. I was looking for meditation music but this video popped up and I must say that this is precisely the wake up call I needed to hear.
I’ve only been working with her for a few weeks but I’ve let my own stuff get in the way of my shadow work and inner reflections. There are numerous points that resonated with me but I’ll keep it short and sweet.

I definitely felt like Hecate was a mother figure, but it was because of my motherely wounds. She guided me to see me as a mentor, as a guide and as you said a mother acrhetype. But i heard from the inside "but im bot your physical mother, you need a physical mother figure too"
She guided me to first go to therapy, stop sabotaging myself and THEN TO WORK WITH HER for magical porpuses, for energy work, ritualism and definitely A LOT of healing. She is like an energetic mother. She doesn't get "mad" or dissapear or shame me if I dont do something, i only feel her trying to guide us when i do something that will sabotage me or hurt me. She also doesnt demand any offerings... most entities wont, so there really no need of building 3000 dollar altar like many do 😂

Thank you so much for this explanation. I am told I was initiated through Hekate and other beings from the underworld. From what I can remember, these experiences and shadow work has been intense. I love Greek mythology, but was not familiar with Hekate. Thank you Hekate and much respect and appreciation to all my guides through the underworld.

I started working with her about a month ago. It has been a very slow, almost getting to know one another type of vibe. I sat looking at some candlelight, just watching the shadows dance along the wall. While sipping on some tea and just meditating, clearing my mind, and chilling in her energy. I wanted to strip away any pretense, any preconceived expectations, and silently learn how her energy felt. I desire to be vulnerable and open to any wisdom Hecate wished to impart. I have done this a few times over the past 3-4 weeks, and I can say you’re absolutely correct on that she is a unique energetic being. To me, she has this very calm, quiet placid lake type resonance to her energy. Like sitting outside, at night, on one of those nights where summer is ending and fall has begun. A warmth paired with a crisp breeze… I told her that I am here to listen and learn from her about whatever lessons she feels like would benefit me on this journey.
