It's an addiction, I used to use machetes, large knives, small knives, but on shooting estates. I used to use chainsaws and axes as well but the knives always had to be sharper. It started from there, I love Traditional knives because I live in the UK, sometimes it's the only nice knife you can carry, it didn't stop me from buying quite a modest collection of all sorts, up to well-fixed skinners and a few Bowie type monsters. I think of it as wee boys with sticks, nearly every small boy picks up a stick, then he learns a knife can cut sticks. At that point, he or she is either interested in tools or not.

I am one of the few that actually tells my wife what my knives cost for a couple reason. One, if something were to happen to me, I want her to actually get what they are worth if she sells them. Two, knives are what I want for gifts, and since I like the nicer stuff, I'd rather her know what they really cost, so she can budget accordingly, lol

All blocks checked. Lesson learned rule: if someone asks me for my knife, I will respond by asking "what needs cutting?" - just incase their intention is to use it for non knife uses (prying, screwdriver, etc).

Hi I’m Lance and I’m a knife addict. Im not sure, but I’ve only been collecting for about a year and I’m guessing I have over 100 knives. I have one to add; knife guys always have a knife next to them on the couch so they call fidget with it while watching tv.

Agree with all of them except 'tip up'. I personally don't mind knives that are tip down, or that are light enough to carry clipless, or that are so slick, they need to go into a little slip sheath or something (usually make them myself), or multi-tools or so that come with a belt sheath.
I think all of this simply adds variety, and variety's not only 'the spice of life', it also IMO keeps your wits sharp.
