F1 Safety Car Drift at Silverstone

It's the end of the Saturday at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, so Bernd Maylander takes some people round the track in the Mercedes SLS Formula 1 Safety Car, very sideways! Sorry for the shite video at the beginning, I was moving along Luffield A Terrace so I could get a good shot of the SLS Powersliding round Luffield. I got the main event in so Job's a gooden!

Having driven this car, I can honestly say that the steering is absolute nirvana. So direct and perfectly weighted. (not really a surprise)

@youluvana so it all depends on the amount of grip available of the track, combined with the sort of rubber used and the characteristics of a car's chassis ...Racecars on tarmac will be setup on having the most downforce in the corners, thus massive griplevels ..drifting those cars will end up in almost an immediate stand-still or losing so much downforce they'll spin out . Look at f1 cars ..major amounts of grip/downforce ..one spin and it's uncontrolable .

That Merc has the worlds best sounding exhaust note. When its released in a race, and u hear that rumble above the high pitch engines of the F1 cars, i always think. WOW i wish the F1 cars sounded like that merc.

I think 2011 will be a good seasonfor Vettel again, but I can see Mark and the McLarens pushing him all the way. I think the 107% Rule is a good idea, because Hispania are pretty much useless, and get in the way. The DRS sounds like something that should have been around for a lot longer, KERS I think needs stricter rules though because Red Bull seem to have it only for the start. No F-Duct is safer, The Blown diffuser is genius, and Petrov's podium was great! :D

i was doin security at silverstone last year and was in the pit lane standing directly behind the sls amg saftey car.. what a noise it made & its super stylish

@1988Mod Actually it is Antony Davidson driving the Safety car. He has a similar helmet to Jenson Button.
