How to stop fix a Smoke Alarm chirp beep

The one I am working on is a Firex brand but this will work on most other brands like Kidde and First Alert.

That damn annoying noise when is dark in your room and you are trying to sleep. I pulled out the device along with the whole cable that connected it. I couldn't take it any more.

delirious and exhausted, I found your video and did everything accordingly. However, I was not prepared for the 15 seconds the alarm would go off while holding the button down. My ears are still ringing lol and I'm also kinda concerned as to why my roommates didn't come running out of their rooms when it went off... Besides that, I have no more beeping and can go back to sleep! :D Thank you kind sir.

I have the same Firex Kidde smoke alarms in my home just like the video. Did everything mentioned in this video and so far after an hour, it's been quiet. I reset the button for about 45-60 seconds, and used compressed air to blow out all the dust. Got a brand new 9v battery, and so far all good. Also, changed out 4 alarms with new batteries and did the same for all of them. Still gotta get the 4 down stairs which will be taken care of in the morning. I followed one of the comments on here as to change out all the batteries to new ones if they were the Firex Kidde alarms since they were also linked to my home alarm system. This U-Tube saved my life. Changed batteries on three smoke alarm, they would not stop chirping. After hysteria, and two very scared dogs howling, I found this is well!

Thanks for that. It's 3:10AM right now and my fire alarm kept beeping 4 times intermittently and I have been in here for like an hour trying to get it to stop. (I couldn't figure out how to unplug it from the ceiling.) but I got it! Now to get a new battery!

Thanks for the help AdamDIY. Of course one started beeping at 3am just like you said. Problem is I had already replaced batteries in all five upstairs detectors at 11pm on the night before. So now I'll try your fix to see if it stops this infernal sh!t from happening tonight.

Kudos to you, AdamDIY! This is quite essential and something every homeowner should know when maintaining their home's smoke detectors. I have two smoke detectors in my home and sometimes they'll chirp out of nowhere, despite having a fresh nine-volt battery, and resetting the devices!
