The Emira is the first new car from Lotus in more than a decade, and potentially their last mid-engine ICE sports car. While it is worth celebrating, it’s not alone in the market. Porsche and Chevrolet both offer great exotic mid-engines for around $100k. Join us as we put all three cars together on an amazing road, debate how they compare, and marvel that they exist.

My Emira test drive ticked all the right boxes for a true driver’s car. As a GT3 owner, the Emira was more fun and engaging on public roads without risk of jail time.

You guys out did yourselves. I can’t express just how much your attention to nuance means to me. You spent nearly 40 minutes solidly on what matters most, the driving experience. Hats off to you both for supreme and unparalleled content.

Paul's comment of the lotus is amazing: "its the oldest new car I've ever driven"

I wish I could afford an Emira. I don't think we will see another car like it.

The Emira just looks so much better than the other two - and the steering / driving feel is for sure on a different level.

Have been an auto repair shop owner for almost 40 years, repaired and driven many old and new sports cars and decided to put down a 5k deposit 2 years ago and retire with a Lotus Emira in my garage! So glad I made the right decision. Thanks guys for your outmost entertaining videos!😎👍🏻

In 3 weeks I will have waited 2 years for my Emira. Supposed to be here in October now which is the fourth "expected" delivery date. Hopefully that happens. I haven't given up yet!

Glad you guys love the Emira.
I ordered one in Verdant green with the 6MT.
As you guys said, it has all the classic qualities of a great sports car at a great price point. Took a chance on it.

I love my 2020 Corvette. It just GOES when you lay into it. The Emira is also a beautiful car.

The sound and the response in that Lotus-modified Toyota V6 is probably the best I've experienced since Alfas classic Busso V6. I got the opportunity to try it out in an Exige. Love it. Want it.

I usually save your videos for Sunday afternoons when the kids are asleep to be able to see it on the big screen...but seeing that title made me watch it instantly. Great work as always, three fantastic cars that you kinda can't go wrong with!

You guys did a great job with the audio on this one! I've always felt that the sound a car makes is a huge part of it's character. All 3 of these cars sound unique and great. Great review!

Love all of your videos. I am a C8 owner. All the good you mentioned is spot on. But as to the other cars mentioned, I could not own them. Living in northern Michigan, I have to look at dependability and service. The Chevy can be services in any town, even a town with only one traffic light. I would have to drive hundreds of miles to service a Porsche or a Lotus. The ubiquity of the Chevrolet dealer service and availability of parts must be considered.

I think my favorite comment in this entire video(it was about the Emira) was when he said, “It commands all of my attention all of the time!”. I totally relate to that as I have a 718 Spyder and have always felt exactly that way about it. You get out of it mentally spent because you have been in a zone the entire time. You never disconnect. Your attention never wanders. You are on heightened alert 100% of the time. It is a perfect sentiment of what a true sports car should be!

Extremely fair and well balanced. Completely agree on all points, which is rare. All three cars are awesome to the right buyer. I like all 3 cars for completely different reasons. It's like choosing between three different ice cream flavors. They're all delicious!

If Lotus continues to sell the Emira, there might still be hope left in humanity. One of the best car comparison videos this is.

This is the comparison I've been waiting for. As always, I wish you guys could have gone to 3 other environments that being: an actual track for a better apples to apples performance driving comparison; a road trip for various real world driving and practicality demonstrations, and to places where regular people could give their feedback like a city center (looks, selfies, conversations initiated, and overall attention); or cars and coffee type events for longer, more in-depth public opinion from car people. That said, thanks for the insightful video. I was recently in the market and it came down to the Emira and the C8 Stingray. The C8 won out for me, but I would have been perfectly happy with either.

Just got back from a drive in my Evora 400 before watching this. Absolutely LOVE it! I will definitely be interested in an Emira in the near future. Will still keep my 400 though. It's got the charm of analog gauges and "coach built" interior.

Might be my favorite car review of the year. Check that. Its is number 1. God I want that Lotus.
