With the current #MazdaCX5 debuting in 2017, the current generation is long overdue for a full redesign. While #Mazda has done a decent job of keeping the #CX5 fresh over the years. Much newer rivals have become more powerful, luxurious, fuel efficient, and practical. The latest #CX5Signature also has to deal with newer competition within the #Mazda showroom with the introduction of the #CX50 a couple years ago.

2023 CX-5 Turbo owner here, love the car, holding up great with just over 10, 000 miles. No issues to speak of, dealership experience was much better than my last two rides (VW and Honda). Biggest thing to note - CX-5 is built in Japan, CX-50 built in the USA, and there is a SIGNIFICANT difference in quality in terms of interior rattles, fit and finish, etc. To me, built in Japan is a huge selling point for any of the Japanese brands.

Beautiful simple engineering. Non turbo is the pick for longevity. 6 sp auto is a durable gem

You sounded like you didn’t even want to do this review. On one hand you’re right, this is this generations 7th year so it’s due for a redesign. On the other hand you sounded salty. 😂

I actually get pissed off when a car doesn’t have a dial

Man…. I own a 2016 Mazda CX-5 GT (purchased brand new in 2015) and that thing has been the single most reliable vehicle we have ever owned and this is primarily a Toyota/Lexus household. It still looks good too…. not terribly dated.

My friend’s dad owns a cx 5 and he says the driving dynamics are excellent, power is great and it feels like a luxury car unlike so many of its competitors

The styling is classic and handsome. The interior looks expensive and high quality. A pano roof would be really nice. The turbo is definitely the way to go for enthusiasts. Build one in Soul Red for me Mazda if you please!

CX-5 > CX-50 for so many reasons. Reviewer didn't do his home work on this one imo.

there’s really no more need of a vehicle than this for an average 4 members family!

I’ve never seen him nitpick so much. Half the useless features you wished they did would add another $10, 000 to the price tag. We need more affordable simplistic reliable vehicles. Such is the CX5.

I own a 2022 model and Iove it. A lot of Sofyan's complaints are nitpicks and don't bother me at all. My year doesn't have touch screen at all but I don't mind the dial and in fact love it for quick access to things. I don't even have to look away from the road. Mazda kept it simple and clean with this car and I enjoy it. It also isn't as expensive as a lot of the rivals and the car is proven to be pretty reliable.

Nice video, Sofyan ! Loving my 2020 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring non turbo. I bought it for under 35, 000 and is basically fully loaded. Only has 32, 000 miles now and she still purrs like a kitten 😸. Nice and smooth with zero problems !!!

The seats fold at 40-20-40 which is nice.. not 40-60.

I'm hoping for a hybrid version of the CX-5. With Mazda's partnership with Toyota, I have my hopes up. 🤞

I have this exact car and I love everything about it. Dial for the infotainment is actually perfect in my opinion. Touch screens are gross and show fingerprints. Also to correct Sofyan this car does actually have LED ambient lighting in all 4 foot wells and it automatically comes on at dusk and you can adjust the brightness of it.

CX-50 is actually shorter than the 5 by a few inches

Normally your reviews are quite good but you really sounded annoyed as if you didn't want to do this review. Felt like you had a bad attitude and it was a chore for you. I don't disagree with everything you said but your attitude really shows. You sounded like you were primed to attack the car, then dismissed it when you actually found out it had certain features (for example the rear seat recline). I hope you bring a better attitude next time. Thanks for the video!

Also FYI the CX-50 has LESS cargo space than the CX-5, with the seats down.
