Thank you, very informative. We adopted a great little guy whose owner passed. Nobody knows much about him. We feed lots of bone broth to our older dogs & it keeps their joints flexible somehow. One dog couldn’t walk good til we started giving it with each meal. Now that I know by his teeth that this little min pin is also a senior we’ll give him some too.

If you take care of the dog, feed it a proper diet and give it good chews (antlers for example) their teeth stay healthier longer. My corgi is almost two and has very white teeth.

I have a dog that was "dumped" on me by a recent homeless guy, I know he's had this dog at least 3 years. Maybe 4. Max (the dog) I can't tell his age at all. He's mostly white with large brown spots, white in the places you wish he wasn't (for determining age) - his teeth are large, really large, but pretty much white. I know this dog wasn't looked after so his teeth should be in bad shape, but they're not. However, when he gets up, I hear clicks in his joints. He sometimes has trouble lifting himself with his back legs. He doesn't eat much. He's a pitbull cross. I'm guessing German Shepard cross because his ears are pointed sharply upward. His joints click when he goes from lying to standing (but only from lying on hard floor.) The whites in his eyes are almost always bloodshot. Not every day, but most days. Can you advise?

I m confused, dog that I adopted from the street, has all white clear front teeth& canines but the rest of them in the back, are with tartar more then half of the entire height.

What they won't tell you if you feed a raw diet you don't get tarter build up the bones naturally clean the teeth but hey the pet food companies don't want you to know that

I rescued a dog that had been abused and starved pretty badly. He is young for sure in his puppy phase still but has slight yellowing on some teeth and bad breath. Is this normal for a neglected dog?
