Yes, do a video connecting a G4 doorbell to activate a smart lock using HomeAssistant.

Definitely keen on seeing how you set up that reader with the door lock!

Why is Ubiquiti going to the camera tail on their new cameras? I always liked having the option of not using a junction box and just plugging the cable directly into the camera. It seems like adding the camera tail is going backwards. Are they worried about matching the other camera manufacturers?

You definitely give the most in depth walk throughs. Thanks man

The vingerprint scanner is GREAT!! Intergrated also with HomeAssistant where it opens my DanaLock door. All done with a webhook. I use Node-Red in HomeAssistant and with the fingerprint_registered trigger I open my door. ( in node red use the webhook node) I could even do a double check where my fingerprint and mobile connect to my own WiFi is needed to open the door. Now me and my wife opening the door with our vingers so much fun and easy to use!

Looks like they read my post in the past about sensor quality and fingerprint reader on the doorbell 😅
So now they are on the same level, with the 8MP camera sensor, like other companies.
It woukd be nice if they went a step forward and bring 12 MP or 16MP because of that price, but for now it looks like they read the posts of the people in the community. 👍🏻
By the way nice video Cody as always and thanks for your time to show the new features!

We need motion detection and PTZ support for 3rd party ONVIF cameras!

Looks like this release went official overnight. It also looks like Ubiquiti may be doing less with ONVIF now they have released the AI Port device, which works with third party cameras... Guess we will see how things go with that in future releases. Still, there are some nice new features in this release.
The new AI Cameras are definitely welcomed. I can say the AI Turret selling really well. It has the same optics as the AI Bullet, but in that turret form factor which is often (arguably) more versatile.
The AI Port is a good idea, though a bit expensive. Would pair really well if you had a few G5 Pro's that you needed AI Features on, without upgrading the entire camera.

I've been waiting for an AI Dome camera and immediately ordered this, when it became available. It'll be delivered tomorrow. I'm curious, how it performs, since my last two dome cameras were from a different brand. I'm really interested to see, how face recognition works, as this is the first camera in my UniFi ecosystem which supports it.

The AI port sounds really cool. Would love to see it tested out with a G4 Doorbell Pro to see if LPR is remotely usable that way, as I'm planning to install one by the gate with an access gate hub. I realize the warping and resolution of the G4 Doorbell Pro may make that pretty finicky, so very curious

it wasn't long ago you were hoping to get to 50k subscribers. congrats on doubling that!

Home assistant isn’t required. Access door unlocking can all be done natively using the alarm manager in Protect 5.1.
I have this working at home, finger unlock on doorbell opens corresponding door.

That new AI LPR camera looks great! I'm a bit nervous about how high the price is going to be but if it's not too bad I'll be getting one asap. Also the new scanner abilities on the doorbell look good but, as you say, we need some sort of protect door lock to take advantage of it

Awesome! Is it possible to set an alarm based on motion in a certain/particular motion zone? i.e not just a blanket motion event.. but say you've split your view into multiple zones?

I am still feeling that unifi is still dragging it's feet with RTSP and many support information sent on where they are not moving forward with this work. Not sure if it is a limitation to their code or their appetite. But for me it's a prosumer solution that is similar to eating a box of saltines without water.

A camera like the AI LPR, would it work ok/well over a 10mbit link? I know 4k needs more than that but interested in if such a camera could work

Why do I have to click a sensor to get to sensor manager... ugh

For the AI port, do we know if it's just one camera or if it will support multiple cameras per AI port?
Great videos! Very excited for the doorbell stuff.
