For the people wondering what slip angle is: It's the angle between the direction the tire is facing and the direciton the tire is moving. At the optimal slip angle the contact patch is sticking to the ground while allowing for maximal rotation of the car. Lateral grip slowly builds up to a maxium but it drops of quickly wich makes it so hard to maintain. This "technique" is widely used an any motorsport, even rally and motorbikes. But don't confuse it with actual slipping since ideal slipangle has only static friciton. This also explains why toe in the rear makes the car more stable since the tire has more artificial slip angle and reaches ideal slip angle quicker.

I love how this is a really glorified, crazy and high-skill technique when Takumi was doing the same thing in the first stage already, while racing against shingo. It even shows the steering wheel lmao

This technique is the most easy to do with drift 86 with grip setup.. Really fun and cool way how to drive when messing with slower drivers.. Sometimes u cant even tell on replay if u r sliding :D

slip angle is not a "technique", it is a consequence of driving quickly at the limit of grip.
keep at it though (and keep it in 3rd after braking for that corner in 86t).
