With the Seven Sins ritual I don't think it's supposed to be that hard. It's mainly to see if you can resist the urges to give into the sins and any other "Obstacles" would get in the way of that. To be honest if feels like the entity is just trying to test you to see if you're worthy of the gift they're giving to you.
