Here's the thing about the Steam Deck, is it the latest hardware? No. But it doesn't matter. Because unless your intent is playing the latest AAA games on max settings, you'll be working with a much better UI and not relying on Microshit and their bloat/spyware to play games. If playing games at max settings is your priority, a handheld is not what you should be buying anyways. Attention to detail is what sets the SD apart from other handhelds.

Ive owned my switch for more than 5 years and the switch is really showing its age. I am tempted to buy a steam deck. I love handheld gaming and being able to play my steam games in the go seems very tempting lol😅

The reason i would buy a steam deck is not because i want an experience of a game with high graphics and 60 fps. i would rather play it on lowest setting (cus it doesn't really matter sisnce the screen is small) and 60 FPS while not being home, maybe at a work trip, a vacation or just at a friend's house trying to play some co-op games. it's also good to progress some solo games while in bed, which you can't do with PC.

I'm planning on getting one on my next paycheck, my desktop has an integrated gpu so upgrading it would be a pain in the butt and for the $450 price tag it definitely feels worth it, all of the steam games I want to play are verified steam deck compatible. I am excited beyond all reason to get this thing, I was kinda sad today not knowing how I could affort to play newer games until I happened to run into someone who mentioned the steam deck and after looking into it's exactly what I'm looking for.

I have it specially the Oled version steam OS can be annoying if you have to leave to Destop mode. If you download any game outside of steam like gog or epic games it’s a pain. Other than that it’s great I enjoy the suspend, played through ghost of Tsushima hdr 45 fps. It’s a great addition to us mobile gamers I play competitive games on my phone and try pc games on steam deck.

Im often stuck in San Diego for a in between gigs for a few hours and been paying at a gaming cafe. They charge $7 an hour, and its gonna get expensive if i dont take the plunge into this deck instead.

Can my son play it when not at home or near his PC, if we had a day out could he bring it and play his usual games. I know he plays eldenring, not sure what else.
