I think the most ironical thing is that he has the power to control the world but he lets his subordinates do whatever they want without actually given any orders or taking any part.

Also I think the funniest thing is that the series can create an amazing lore and a mysterious world, but the MC just doesn't give a sh** about the world and we only get the smallest but of info about the cult and the history everytime.

Cid is ruthless from the start as he kills people with no remorse. He works hard in being so strong as he trains and researches ways to be strong. He made gear from slimes that are magically potent meaning that he can shape and augment the slime into various items.

I think the main problem with OP characters is that rather than allowing us to enjoy the OPness of the character, these series want them to have struggles and drama and sh*t like that.

They want there to be threats and stakes...

But, like One Punch Man, or Yuna of the Hot Springs or Isekai Nonbiri Nouka, being OP doesn't hurt the story because the problems and struggles don't care about the OPness of the MC.

Either it's OTHER people suffering, or it's slice of life.

The authors don't realize that being OP means you have to cut off the stakes. They want a best of both worlds... and that kinda ruins the OPness...

Being OP means you should allow the audience to just enjoy the character being OP.

Also, SAO isn't a series with an OP protagonist, just a strong one. Kirito still gets his ass kicked, and there are people still stronger than him.

It's the anime you just don't think much while watching, like when you started watching anime, you don't think of how cringy it is, you don't think about how awkward it was to do those moves and poses you saw, you just think it's cool and indulge yourself into it out of pure interest and excitement, and eminent of shadow brings that back, knowing it isn't cringy since it's self aware, and it doesn't take itself serious
