Are you team mechanical or team software? I’m team mechanical! But both can allow you to do some really cool things!

I would like to add as a mechanical engineer major, going to my 4th and final year and also working at a very large engineering consultancy company as a summer job: Working flexible is now more possible for engineers, so working from home is also possible. During Covid a lot of big companies realised that it works. I am also working from home every now and then. I can work 4 days in the week at home, but ofc I like going to office and then to the gym you know. Mechanical Engineering is fun, pick something you like, dont look at the money. I am working 8 hours a day and I don't feel like I am working. I am working on big natural gas station projects and hydrogen projects, it just thrilling seeing pictures of big cranes and people building the 2D lines and 3D models that you made. You reconize some of the lines and it is just stunning how big your work has to the project, which is insane.

i think mech.e. because like you said you can work in any industry including tech. M.E. is the jack-of-all trades. I feel like if you can do mechanical, you can certainly code, BUT not the other way around.

To the answer about mechie or software the answer is robotics or mechatronics.
A mechie starts with low salary but when time passes he can become a good leader and start a good entrepreneur. The harsh life will force him to success.
A software engineer have a good start with high salary, fun college life but his salary will be consistent. 25 lacper annum.
If you prefer starting money go for software if you prefer passion then go for mech, you'll definitely be successful leader. At later stage

I would suggest you that if you want fame, money and passion it's mechatronics, aeronautics or ece.

I really needed this because there aren't a lot of comparisons between these two majors and I'm really stucked between them . Thank you
And to answer your question i would probably go with mechanical because of the more field work

Thanks for the video, but it's really obvious that you're team ME. Would make sense to invite someone from team SE and you both could have a talk / discussion / pro and con back and forth...
I'm team SE and for me one thing is clear: Software makes the future, not ME.

Very helpful video. But why not choose both? Like since you can work remotely from anywhere as a software developer then you can split the time between the two jobs one at day and one at night. What do you think?
