Electrical Engineering vs. Mechanical Engineering

I think mechatronics is a sweet spot for those out there who are unsure of what to pick

I think ElectricalE, MechanicalE, and CivilE are the three foundational branches. Everything else is usually just some type of specialization of the 3.

Civil is the oldest discipline. The Romans were expert Civil engineers and thats what we remember them for.

Don't do it unless you are deeply passionate about it. Being good at math isn't enough to pick engineering, math is just an indicator your brain is logical and critical which you could use in many many other disciplines such as programming, statistics and financial fields. After graduation half of my engineering batch either got in engineering economy or switched to other fields such as computer science or have their own business now😂.
Most engineers I know studied it and figured what to do with their lives later
If you want endless quizzes and assignment and no fun during college then pick engineering

And now theres a handful fo schools offering mechatronics engineering major, but some that dont also allow mecheng and EE double major

Just a warning I been seeing more meche’s struggling to find a job than EE’s, if you do meche hope you go to a decent uni, and stand out. Grad school is always an option as well.

I personally believe electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering are the three cores of engineering. Every other engineering discipline can be derived from them or made by combining them.
