There are much better options out there. The problem is this turntable has no anti-skate nor a counterweight. It basically digs into your grooves and destroys them. Permanently.

Do NOT buy any crosley, jensen, or all-in-one systems. Buy everything seperate: turntable (new or used, like u-turn orbit or an old pioneer), phono pre-amp (If you find a receiver with a pre-amp, you're golden!), and an amp if you do not have a receiver. And of course speakers. You can get all of this for 150-200 used, or 200-300 new. And i'll last you a lifetime, sound great, and WON'T destroy your records.

Oh dear, the worst player you could possibly buy!!.  Cheap, nasty, very poor performance and will completely knack your records sorry :o(  Save up and get something decent.

Yes, it's inexpensive for a good reason!!  Get second hand instead of this thing :o(

for my first record player i was on a tight budget and didnt know much about the brilliant world of vinyl. however now i would class myself as an audiophile. i bought a 40 quid record player for my starter one and now have upgraded to a good one with all the appropriate features to avoid damaging records e.g 'counterweight'. what i dont understand is if you have enough money to buy this record player, why not buy the audio technica lp60 for only 50 quid extra?

Go for a used MKII, or a budget Rega, Project, Nad, Lenco, Thorens, there are many budget turntables that can carry very good cartridges and what you will get from them will be much more than the money you will spent.

I'd definitely pitch that and get a Stanton T.92 with some bookshelf speakers and a vintage integrated amp. As well as an Ortofon Concorde Pro cart and OM20 stylus.

Just wondering, why would you say it is good for a beginner? I am thinking of getting one and I was wondering if the quality of it would drive me crazy! How have you got on with it since, has it ruined your records like lots of people have said it does?

You can get an Audio Technica LP-60 for about the same price and it will make your records sound extremely better even if you don't clean your records that often. It will also basically let you're records last forever if you clean your records when you see allot of dust.

I remember we used to have a turn table when I was a child. Love love love them. I also remember records coming in two sizes, you had the big ones and the kinda mini ones. Maybe that one is for mini records? Not entirely sure if that would make a difference to the skipping situation you mentioned, maybe? Anyways great review thanks for sharing.

Thank you, great video. I was thinking of getting one of these but after your review and advice I think I'll look at something else. Also thank you for not being patronising, I sometimes feel out of my depth with how some people talk about record players, especially this brand. Any further advice from anyone on what a good record player to buy is when just starting out and also when you're on a tight budget. Any help would be great and most appreciated xx
