Added functionality is nice, but not a fan of the huge housing around it. I would have preferred more of a "tablet" appearance with a flat blanking plate over the dash behind it.

It's not as easy dropping in an aftermarket dual din head unit into my Mk7 Fiesta, the biggest problem I faced was obtaining the right facia plates and interface module for the steering wheel controls, And to keeping the original vehicle settings menu functionality, in order to still access the interior accent lighting menu and mirror fold controls. I thought about installing one of these cheaper vertically orientated android units, but ended up settling for a premium DAB HDMI Sony unit. Thanks for sharing.

When I realized that there was no product with a good design, but only things that made my central part of the dashboard look like a TV with a CRT screen I left it alone, there are only things that make everything very square and protruding and really clash with the design of the interior and the car in general.
Surely this thing makes the car more modern but certainly not more beautiful.

These android head units are great, but you do have to remember a little security with them. One thing, if your car is ever stolen, whatever Google account is setup on them is fully exposed as there are no locks. So have a think about security and stuff like that with them. I would make sure to use a different Google account to your main one as if someone gets access, they would have your gmail, contacts and everything on yout Google account. Other than that, they are great little units and a great upgrade. Have to admit, this one is not the prettiest install. It is relatively ugly.
If you are using Carplay or Android auto and none of the options in the unit, I'd suggest looking at an add on screen that only does carplay, as these are usually a lot cheaper than a full android head unit.

Set security on the device if you are going to sync any personal emails and data in case your car gets stolen, stops the thief getting access to your personal emails, set a passcode at start up, if you find that a hassle then don't log into anything

The only issue with this, is : most Fiesta drivers sit with their seat in the lowest position, and the seat squab angled back at a 45 degree angle (I'm a race car driver style).
They won't be able to see out of the windscreen with that thing in the way.
On second thoughts, most of them don't look anyway, carry on
