Hey Andrew! I want to tell you “THANK YOU” !

A few months ago I began to apply to jobs. I was hesitant because from my past experience I wouldn’t get picked for hire.

I deleted my resume and cover letter that I had used for many years. I realized I needed to start fresh and then I found you and honestly I learned so much! I followed your tips from your resume videos. I followed what you suggested and shortly after I stared to get calls from recruiters and many said my resume was impressive and that they can see how good of a fit I would be for them. I started getting calls from companies I had applied for the past 6 years!

Once I was scheduled for my interviews, I prepared with your videos on how to interview. In the year 2019-2020 I went on several interviews and never actually prepared. This time, after watching your interview videos from your page I realize I was missing the part where I needed to just give more examples of my experience and relate it to the position I was interviewing for. This new journey on learning from you started in November 2021. It’s now the end of January 2022 and I finally got the call that the place I applied for the past 6 years and my dream job finally came true!

Thank you a million times and more!

I don't want to be CEO or Director of (my field); I want to be your most effective, most valued (my field) person. My talents don't lie in management.

I'd say it's not only the way to answer this question but also to plan the career progression. When I matched the skills I'd like to develop with the level of responsibilities, the number of potential job opportunities just multiplied.

That is a great question: ”Who I want to be?”
In my present job, my boss started to plan my life ahead and decide who I want to be. I thought myself: ”Wait a moment. This stuff you’re imagining about me has nothing to do with the best I can give or who I am or want to be!”

I applied a new job, got it- and it is different. I begin soon and I must say, that indeed, it reflects better the person who I want to be and what to do and even, where I want to live! It is in another city, I must move. Or: I am lucky to move! 😁

In my previous life, I noticed that I unfortunately thought too much about who other people want me to be. That is why also the tasks were this and that, nothing that would take me consistently to the upper level. Now, I thought that this is enough! And even I did not think the ”5 years before me”- thing consciously, I knew that I die if I continue in the same way that things went on in my present job that I end soon. I could not imagine my future like that!

This lesson has been a journey!

Mr Alex Trebeck, what is Andy’s elevator pitch coaching lesson reimagined towards a completely different purpose for 5 years question. I absolutely love that Andy keeps hammering in words to live by again and again. No point in reinventing a bicycle. I have the elevator pitch on my linked in page to broadcast what i do so 5 year thing will be morphed out of that i recon.

Hi good morning good day ..:. Thank you so much. This question is goofy! I agree!!!

Yes, I agree with you. Your way of answering this question is perfect, because not too many supervisors would be willing to hire someone who openly states during an interview that they wanted the boss's job.

What is your opinion on resubmitting a resume you for a job you already sent to HR? Fixed the resume using some tips you mentioned and want to resubmit it. It's been about a week and half since I sent my first resume.

Hi Andrew, just had an interview with the hiring manager. How do I respond when she asks, "What value do I bring to the team" when I reply using your past technique, "What are key things that you look for." She replied, "is all on the JD": / It sounds rude to me, though...
