Operation Trident - The finest hours of Indian Navy

This video is one of the most detailed accounts of the Indian Navy's Operation Trident in the India-Pakistan 1971 war. The operation is considered as the finest hours of the Indian Navy and on the basis of this very operation, Indian Navy celebrates Navy Day on 4th December every year.

My Uncle was part of this Navy operation and in one of these ships. I remember he told me that their Missile firings were so fierce, they could see Karachi port burning from their ships. They destroyed everything - Pakistani cruisers, ammunition depots, oil depots, weapons cargo ships. Karachi was under total Indian Naval blockade to prevent any of their ships reaching Bangladesh. He used to go to Russia many times for training. He is retd from Navy now.
