I was 5 years old in 1971 and living in Karachi. I clearly remember the attack on oil depot. The ground shook and sun did not come out in karachi for several days due to the thick smoke.

This series on India and Pakistan has been an unexpected delight. Most channels focus on Western wars and we don’t hear enough about battles in the East that also use more modern weapons and tactics.

Glad you're continuing the Indian content even after what happened. Your videos are incredibly well researched and very entertaining to watch.

Those old Soviet Styx missiles proved to be exceptionally effective. Pretty good for 60s/70s technology.

My Uncle's (My Dad's Older Brother) one-time commanding officer was the same guy who was the captain of the Khukri, he deliberately chose to go down with the Ship since some of his crew had been killed in the torpedo attack and he felt it wouldn't be right for him to escape when some of those under his command had died.

He went down the Khukri, apparently, he refused to be dragged off by his crew who wanted to save him and chose to go down with the ship. Apparently, he was last seen by his crew, reading a newspaper as the ship went down.

Mahendra Nath Mulla was a very colorful character, my Uncle had some interesting stories about him.

My father was the coursemate of Capt Mulla, and had told me stories of his bravery and of his resolute decision to go down with the ship. Never imagined that I'd see this on a video. Thanks so much! Would love to see Kargil War

The immediate shutdown of a vital port (Karachi) turning what would have been a relatively symmetrical war into a short and comparatively one-sided one reminds me of the Russo-Japanese war.

Sri Lankan here. I'm a sucker for content like these but most of the videos I've watched are on world wars or western wars. It's great to see conflicts that happened right at our doorstep for a change.

Fascinating series. It's great to have some military history content that isn't just focused on WW2 or Vietnam. I hope we get to hear about what happened next.

Some highlights of the Indo-Pak War 1971
- World's best naval operations in peer-to-peer conflict since WW2
-World's largest Para drop since WW2 - tangail airdrop
-Some of the best Special operations and raids behind enemy lines by the PARA SF
- Largest surrender since WW2
-New country formation
- Almost WW3 with involvement of US and USSR
-One of the shortest wars in the history of Wars.

Great work!
I would recommend looking into the battle of Longewala...how 120 men dominated the night against a Pakistani armored division with 40 tanks and 3000 men. At dawn the remaining forces were wiped out by the air force.

That was the first submarine torpedo kill since 1945. The only other one was the royal navy putting one up the belgrano during the Falklands situation.

The 1971 War is an incredibly interesting conflict. Within a week, the Indian military was able to beat back a large Pakistani army and saved Bangladesh from further genocide and rape. The tank battles and air war of 1971 are also incredibly interesting. The 1965 war is also an intresting conflict, including some large tank battles.

I must say that missile boat had quite an appropriate name, "Vinash" in the Hindi Language, means "Destruction"

You should look into the tank battles in indo-pak wars. They are some of the best.
