Thanks for the tips. I just started playing this game and love it. I needed the strategy lessons. My suggestion is that a player must learn his faction's personality quickly as the random cards and boards allow for so many different strategies every time you play. Also, I have learned I must watch the other players more closely, than just concentrate on my own moves.

With Polania, it's all about that first Encounter Card and they play best at lower head counts. Polania's Mech with Lake Movement also allows early access to the Factory which gives you more Movement to capitalize on your Faction Ability. Saxony benefits from having workers start on both Oil and Metal. A lot of the time, Saxony's first turn is best spent trading or producing, whereas most others will want to move a worker to a Village. Also, be aware of your opponents' Faction abilities, not just your own. If I'm Rusviet or Saxony and Crimea's in the game, I know to watch Bolster. If an early Encounter Card may help beat them to Bolster or Gain a Recruit w/o having to take the Action, it helps capitalize on and/or mitigate Crimea's gains.

12:30 into the video. No strategy, no tactics. No factions even named. All I know is guy in blue shirt likes the game because he has spent so much money on it.

If your hitting 13 popularity without using a 2 pop factory card then your game is going to long. Some faction/mat combos do need to stall to win, but for the most part this is a race game. Usually I aim for 2 combats, 1 objective, 4 enlists, 8 workers and the last star will depend on the mat. Some mats can get the power star, but otherwise I go for 4 mechs. This is just a general rule, there are combos that have to deviate, but the upgrade and pop star take to long unless you get some lucky encounters/factory card.
