In this video, we reveal a hidden gem for frequent flyers! Learn how to link your Alaska Mileage Plan account to your Albertsons/Safeway Just for U Rewards to earn valuable miles on everyday grocery shopping. This is a great way to boost your miles balance, especially if you already shop at these stores.

WAIT, Why Do I Care?

The great thing about this redemption method is that it enables you to have CHOICE on how you want to redeem your Just-For-U rewards.

Let's assume you get a 10 gallon fill-u. 10 x 0.1 = $1 in savings. Our family goes to Costco Gas for our fill-ups and always beats gas stations here in California. OR you can choose a few dollars off for groceries. BUT since Alaska Airline miles are only a BILT exchange partner, accumulating their miles is pretty hard.

Even though, Alaska Airlines increased the pricing for award charts. However, their miles are still a solid choice to get some great redemptions for Alaska Airline flights or partner flights. For example, Starlux airline is a partner that you can use Alaska miles to redeem to Asia and save more than several dollars at the gas pumps.

The great thing is you can stack this on top of your credit card that you used to pay for the groceries.

IMPORTANT NOTE - The Alaska Airlines Miles redemption is meant for Alaska Residents only! There have been data points where people have had their Just-For-U account closed due to using this redemption while outside of Alaska. It could be Alaska Airlines detecting a difference in zip codes. Or it could be Safeway noticing you switching your zip code back and forth. If you do decide to use this redemption for your rewards, make sure to properly evaluate your own risk tolerance and understand your account can get shut down. Please see Disclaimer below.

LIMITS - You can only redeem 1 set of rewards per week (max 1300 miles). This resets on Wednesdays.

NOTE - Some users have reported they have linked multiple Just-For-U accounts to a single Mileage Plan account.
