At the end of "Return of the Jedi" you can hear Jar Jar's voice proclaim "Weesa Fwee!" at Naboo's celebration of the Empire's downfall. So he got his happy ending anyway.

I totally expected you to say he needed to come to a violent and bloody end, but I really appreciate what you did here. You didn't go as far to redeem Jar Jar as I would, and you still gave his story a kind of tragic end, but at least you made him a hero and tolerated him more than most people would have. Actually, George Lucas listened to the fans (despite what people say) and cut his role out of the rest of the trilogy for the most part. However, if you read between the lines of what Jar Jar did do, he actually did a lot of good for the galaxy, whether on purpose or not. He may have even allowed for more good to be done through his clumsy and kind of random actions than Han or Leia. Maybe.

I used to hate him, but through the clone wars, I realized how much he cares for his friends. He's a model of what a being should be. Kind, compassionate and caring, as well as loyal. This is an amazing theory.

Well damn. i've neer really liked jar jar but at the same time never hated him, he was always just a background character. but this really brings character and emotion to such a plot device.

I actually would like to see a older wiser Jar Jar in an upcoming film. I understand that so many people disliked his character but with many more miles on his sole perhaps he could be a redeemed character. Plus we all have a Jar Jar in our lives that we just learn to love despite there annoying quirks.
