Musk on 'Emotionally Difficult' Visit to Hamas Attack Site in Israel

Entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk, who’s been under fire over accusations of antisemitism flourishing on his social media platform X, met with Israel's President Isaac Herzog in Jerusalem on Monday. Earlier, Musk and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu toured the Kfar Azza kibbutz, a rural village that Hamas militants stormed on Oct. 7 in a deadly assault that launched the war.

"It has certainly been, I would say, an emotionally difficult day, to see the places where people were murdered," said Musk. "Unfortunately, we are inundated by antisemitism, which is Jew hate. And Jew hate impacts the entire notion of behavior of human beings in so many places around the world," Herzog told Musk, adding "You have a huge role to play." "Celebrating the murder of innocent people is extremely disturbing," Musk added.

Some 1,200 people have been killed in Israel, mostly during the initial incursion by Hamas in October. At least 77 soldiers have been killed in Israel’s ground offensive. More than 13,300 Palestinians have been killed since the war began, roughly two thirds of them women and minors, according to the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry in Gaza, which does not differentiate between civilians and combatants.
