Thanks for another great video David. I've been using the brush method, has been working for me so far, think I will have to try some bee bandit.

Hahahah! Being that we make our own videos also. The bloopers are a hoot. I’m glad I’m not the only one that can’t get words out sometimes. Have a good day.

Just In Time before church! Hello David.

The bee brush method works great for me. Doing it first thing in the morning makes it even easier. Having a hive body with an inverted outside cover nearby to place the brushed off frames prevents the bees from getting to the now bee-less frames.

Great video. Especially love your bloopers at the end. We took a few frames by brushing them and then most important, put the frames away from the amoog/bees. Those girls will follow your harvest. We left the apiary and took those frames inside.

Another bee-autiful video, David! I tried the spray (different brandname, same type of product) and was AMAZED at how well it worked. The bee brush helped with the few stragglers. Can't wait to harvest some honey! 😋🍯🐝

Thank you so much David! Problem solved… we’ll be getting the honey bandit!

I find that the combination of a Quebec/triangle bee escape and a leaf blower (for the few remaining bees) works really well. Needs to stay on for one day per box above the escape.

Thank you. I use honey robber spray as well, and never thought to use a towel as applicator. Fume boards are expensive, I only own one, so this hack will allow us to do more than one colony at a time.

I just harvested my 2nd batch of honey (30 lbs). I was very conservative this year with the drought. Good to know about the bandit product which I will definitely give a try. I brushed off my bee’s and on my drive home there were random hitchhiker’s. NYS has a terrible drought as I’m sure the rest of the country. What’s your thought on bee survival through this winter and the likelihood of the lack of a fall nectar flow? Thanks again.

Bee escape board for me is a huge help when harvesting honey. I use a different design but same principle. I don't like the bee brush because it's too slow and bees are usually irate when you are robbing them.

I wanted to pick your mind on if glass jar honey will have the glass crack if stored in unheated garages in winter? Normally I store it inside but its hard to have enough space for everything when your honey operation starts to work and has volume. Many garages aren't heated in winter and didn't have to worry about this before. I don't normally see this and some people seem to like glass over plastic jars.

I don't see people talking about this much on honey processing.

Thanks for the video. I used an escape board and it was eight days before I pulled the honey. When exacting the honey I found a frame with larva in the honey. (Little white larva) Did I wait too long and was that small hive beetle larva I found.

Excellent video! I am intimidated and haven't tried to extract honey. I think I like the "turkey feather" method!! Thx 🙂

Thanks for the video. How much do you spray on that towel per one honey super?

David, have you ever tried soaking a rag or a cotton ball with bee-quick solution and put it in a cold smoker?

I just pull out my frames and knock the corner of the frame on top of the hive and the bees fall in the hive. Works great. Then I take a feather if there are some still on there and brush them off. What do you think about this?

Started using this, really like the results: DEWALT 20-volt Max Jobsite Blower Model #DCE100B. (its not a leaf blower) Just blow them off.
