People hate God but love his creation.

People go around all day enjoying it,
but hate the person who made it. They try to scrub away any mention of him, gets sick to their stomach at the thought of him being brought up.

It's a really, really depressing miserable existence.

There's a difference between separating art from artist when the artist's views harm people. Senator James Lankford blocked the Senate consideration of the Equality act, which is an LGBTQ civil rights bill by citing J.K. Rowling's blog posts. Whether you like it or not, she has political power and people listen to her. She had the chance to keep hateful, bigoted views and comments to herself and just be quietly known as the writer for Harry Potter, but instead has fought trans people with hateful rhetoric for years.

I mean I think you're kinda minimalizing a pretty big sociocultural issue as 'a minor sticking point' I doubt you'd see it as minor if she was actively bigoted toward you. Pretty easy to minimize a problem when you're literally the most coddled demographic.
