The fact that she actually researched how people react to torture was such a Hermione thing to do

Fun Fact: Dan, Rupert, and Tom admitted to ruining the first take of the torture scene as they were on set when it was filmed, heard Emma screaming and ran to the room set thinking she was actually hurt.

Helena didn’t mean to torture Emma while the two of them were acting
When the director said “cut” Helena apologized to Emma and gave her a hug

The producers were like "Okay Emma, thank you for your hard work, but we have to keep it PG"

She did an awesome job. I can't imagine, how hard it must be to play this. Proves her to be a great actress❤

I recently rewatched Deathly Hallows Part 1 and know what they are talking about. There is a moment when Harry and Ron are in the dungeon when Hermoine let's out a startlingly realistic scream off-screen and I noticed it more this time than during previous rewatches. I immediately thought about Emma Watson having acted this out in studio and thinking "..damn"

What about a death scene in order of the phoenix?
Daniel(harry's actor) was having a really bad day due to a personal lost.
While filming a character's death he had to scream.
But the scream ended up to be so painful and devastating tgat they muted it into the final cut and every body was very unconfortable

I read about two actors who had a big emotional scene to film in the afternoon.  The man spent all morning listening to sad musuc and looking at photos of dead relatives (taken when they were alive) to get into the right mood.  The woman spent the morning chatting with the makeup girls, snacking and laughing and joking with the camera crew.
Come the filming, he felt that she blew him out of the water with the intensity of her performance which, he said, she just switched on like a light.
It's an odd thing, acting.

If you watch, she does this shaky kicking reaction when bellatrix is carving into her arm that just seems so authentically painful. She really took it to a new level.

Deathly Hallows 1 & 2, imo, are probably the most disturbing movies out of all the HP movies

i absolutely hated that scene! i love Hermione (i think everyone does) and she does not deserve to be treated like that

Her screams in the movie really do sound real. Nobody in movies screams like that, which makes it all the more harrowing.

In a similar vein, in the scene in Order of the Phoenix where Harry is screaming after Sirius is killed, Daniel's scream was so visceral and disturbing that some of his fellow cast members were actually moved to tears, and the production crew ultimately had to mute the sound of it in the final cut in order to preserve the film's PG-13 rating.

related story: I was in a stage production of Man of Lamancha. Around the end of the show, Don Quixote has a 'heart attack' and grasps his chest with appropriate noises. Once, during a dress rehearsal, the actor playing Cervantes playing Don Quixote acted like he really had a heart attack. Director said, "Stop. Don't do that. You'll make the audience worry."

I really dislike when exceptional work and effort is lost, disregarded or considered too good..
