Between 1839 and 1915 about 6500 people emigrated from Nordre and Søndre Land to America. Who emigrated and why, and what happened with them? The film, AMERICA LETTERS: stories of emigration was made by Randsfjordmuseet in 2019 for its school teaching programmes. The subjects discussed in the film are integration, assimilation and the experience of being an immigrant. The film is used to create understanding of the situation of immigrants in Norway today. It was financed by Sparebankstiftelsen, Landingslaget In America and Randsfjordmuseet Ltd.
