Amazon Kindle (2022) - New Edition! 6' 300ppi Backlit Crisp Display 16GB

My wife loves her Kindles so much I just had to get her the latest one. This time we have a much smaller, lighter unit with USB-C charging and a terrific display.

Actually the light does NOT totally go off at 0, it is always on but is so faint to see you really have to be in a pitch black room to tell. The reasoning for this (I assume) is if you were say laying in bed and put the brightness to 0, you wouldn't be able to see the screen in a dark room. There would not be a way to adjust the settings nor the brightness in order to see again. 🙂

The screen is lighted from the front, not backlit like LED or LCD technology.

My kindle is now like, 6 years old and has a small crack in the screen, but from what else I can see in this video, the new one is the exact same. Text clarity and everything.

Can u show it at different levels of brigness in a pitch black room. I wanna know how bad it gets. And can u aldo show ghe dark mode.

Just got this and worried that I have a defective one.
Looks great in light, but in the dark, the lighting makes all the blacks look light gray. Text, graphics and all.
In dark mode, the background is gray. Is this a contrast problem, or typical of this version?

Maybe just maybe it is time to use a free e-ink tablet!
