This same situation has happened to us. We moved into our new home in Arlee, MT. in January of 2016. I set the power up with Mission Valley Power. The lady we purchased our home from moved to a front house also located on the same lane. Apparently
nobody from that household called MVP to have the power put in their name and so the power bill from her old house followed her to her new house and we were stuck with the address that was the front house. We had tenants in our lower floor and they had moved out and we had installed a wood burning stove and also a mini-split heating/air conditioning unit and were anxious to see how much our power bill went down. IT WENT UP! I had contacted MVP on a couple of occasions asking what 73049 Scout Lane address was as it was NOT our address and perhaps was it the location of the power pole itself? They finally started an investigation after 3 1/2 years we received a letter from MVP stating we had signed the wrong contract (they sent us the contract) and that we owed $1100 some odd dollars more! Yes over $1, 100.00. They are working with us on a payment plan that we were able to chose but they will not remove any of the $$$'s
that is owed. We are making a small monthly payment on the past due amount. At least this guy is getting some monies back for his
inconvenience. The power bill is now correct and we have a new meter that we can read. UGH!
