CARFAX reports serious wreck three years after the fact

A man who bought an SUV thought it was in good shape thanks to a clean CARFAX report. Then that report was updated.

I had the same thing happen to me. Purchased a used vehicle in 2016 with a Clean car fax. No accidents or damage. Went to trade it in and was told there is structural damage listed on car fax that happened 1 year before I purchased and reported 2 yesrs later. I was offered half of the kbb value. Car fax gave me the same responses and when I asked which the agency reported it to them they advised it was confidential. DO NOT TRUST CAR FAX!!!
