Managing chronically late employees has always been tricky, but with Millennials, companies find the problem is growing. As one manager told me, “Schedule adherence is always an issue among new young employees, but it’s getting much worse. More and more we are having a terrible time with young waiters, kitchen support, and cleaners disappearing for ‘breaks’ in the middle of their shifts, not to mention calling out ‘sick’ too often, coming in late, and leaving before shifts are over.” So, how do you most effectively manage a chronically late employee?

Either reschedule their working hours or fire them. Usually it is the latter.
