I still miss Vidic, man had more passion for our club than 90% of our players today...combined

That triangle of defense at the back Ferdinand, Vidic and Van der Sar was something amazing. (The work teams would have to put in to get past all three)

I honestly think Vidic and Ferdinand would’ve stayed at least 1 or 2 years more if it wasn’t for fergies retirement

Not a Manchester United fan but huge respect for this iconic duo. Best combination of silk and steel.

To put it into perspective, there were a couple of other CB partnerships at that time, that could easily have claimed to be the best ever, yet these two still stood out. To be considered even better than Terry & Carvalho, and Puyol & Pique, in itself is the measuring stick.

The golden era of defenders imo.

Johnny Evans played his part filling in when either was injured. In fact it's clear that getting rid of him was a terrible mistake.

Ferdinand is the type of ball playing CB Pep fantasizes about day in day out

His ball playing ability, cross field diagonal passes and his pace and defensive ability are criminially underrated, especially by English fans themselves

As for Vidic, he's the best defender I have seen in 14 years of following football. I could go to war if he's on my team

Vidic was the kind of guy who would dive head first into a brick wall if it meant it could stop a goal.

To answer the question of how they'd do in the premier league today, simply put. They'd terrorize the prem!! Just like they did back in the days bruv!!!!

As a defender growing up watching these two play was something else. Vidic was literally my inspiration whenever I went on the pitch. Still is.

Dude, these two would still dominate the league today. I'm loving your channel, thank you.

Before I even watch this vid yes

Nemanja vidic is my all time favorite defender and as a Man U fan I was spoiled to watch him

I was a teenager before I really understood football defense the way I understand it now and didn't appreciate him but man do I miss our former captain...

Thank you Vidic for EVERYTHING YOU GAVE US

what is really frustrating is that having Vidic, Rio, and Evra to learn from Jones and smalling still could not live up to our hopes (United Fans)
I am not going to slag them off but after watching a backline with Evra, Vidic, Rio and Van der Star, you can almost cry watching Jones and smalling.

Imagine Jaap Stam and Vidic.
Game over for everyone.
Rio was top level and I wish he stayed a couple years longer at united even as part time as our defence was terrible after. QPR thing didn't work great but I can see he was trying something a bit different.
