In this advanced excel tutorial i'll show you how you can automatically save and close a workbook after a certain time of inactivity. Sometimes we work on confidential workbooks and forgot to close it every time we leave the work-space. This is where this quick excel tutorial will be helpful.
The idea is to save & close opened workbook if the user is not active for certain time. Most important part is the you can change your inactivity duration with your preferred time. Now lets follow the below procedure to automatically save & close workbook after certain time of inactivity.
Step 3: Click "Insert" and then "Module"
Step 5: Click On "ThisWorkbook" from the project pane at the left side of the VBE (Visual Basic Editor)
Step 7: Save the workbook in .xlsm format
Step 8: Done. After 15 seconds of inactivity the workbook will be saved and closed.
PS. You can change the time duration by changing this line of the code: CloseTime = Now + TimeValue("00:00:15")
