There are three important things to do to protect your assets and make sure that your insurance company works for you.

First, ask if the other driver has made a demand to settle the case.

Second, make sure you ask your insurance company lawyer how much the demand was for.

Third, make sure you let them know that you want the case to settle so your personal assets are not at risk.

The insurance you have only covers so much. This is called policy limits. If the injuries you cause are more than your policy limits, and your insurance company isn’t settling the case, the injured party can go after your personal assets, like bank accounts or your home.

If they ask for 50 thousand and your coverage is 50 thousand and the insurance is willing to pay that, does that mean they can’t come back and sue you personally for more, even if you have a good job where they could garnish your wages?

Hello sir thank you for your video. Recently I was involved in a mvc where a motorcycle which was being ridden by 2 juveniles and a 19 yr old crash into the vehicle I was driving head on. The. Vehicle I was driving belong to my mother. It is a brand new lease vehicle. The situation here is that she was unaware that the insurance coverage on the vehicle had lapsed. Obviously I had no idea either, I found out later in the day when I call the insurance company and they informed me of her negative status. What are some of the options here?? Can I or her sue the perpetrators?? Would the district attorney's office offer me some type of assistance or compensation to get the car fix ?? The insurance coverage on her vehicle has been reinstated however, the lapsed in coverage for the day of the accident still remains. Can the insurance company still cover this being that I was not at fault.?? I would appreciate any advice you may have in this matter. Thank you again for your great videos.

Im watching this video because i saw a video where a criminal carjacked someone and total the car and other people's cars too. In a just world, the person that done wrong take accountablity and reversing the damage, buy the same car(of course not brand new).
But cars expensive and criminals dont have the money, why else would they had they carjack someone. But then again, there are teenages in america, just carjack people for fun even though their parents are loaded with money.
