Here's a little tip. Just before you prestige go to a wager match high roller, double down, and then prestige. You can keep all the money you win!

i like prestiging on black ops cuz its sooo easy to gain everything back. i like having something to work for too.

Depends on the person really
if you want extra custom classes and don't find difficulty in leveling up a little to get a decent gun, then prestige.
if you don't want to lose the guns and perks you spend weeks trying to get, don't prestige
you're probably a better player by the time you prestige, so leveling up won't take as long. staying at 51 and letting the exp go to waste just seems boring.

@wwwwario yes. prestige level 2 means that you need to prestige 3 times, prestige level 4 means that you need to pretige 5 times, and so on.

I've heard a few reason why online players do not prestige, the major one being fear of losing your stuff. Others have second accounts where all they do is unlock everything they can.

Speaking of which, there are a very very small amount of players that do this and I'm definitely not one of them. They unlock every single thing they can first and then prestige. And only a handful of those people repeat this process all the way to level 15 prestige. That should be an achievement! 2000 gamerscore!

@ashscootash no, in fact, you have to manually go into prestige mode via the playercard. you can keep your rank (prestige or not) if you do not want to enter prestige mode again or for the first time

Coming back from the FIRING RANGE I passed a town and this chick told me it was a NUKETOWN she suffered from RADIATION and contracted WMD? I went back to her VILLA the power was out, it was something to do with the GRID it was a CRISIS. We went to her room, she told me her name was HANOI then got undressed. I was in ARRAY of how much like a JUNGLE it was down there. After a few hours my pelvis CRACKED when I tried to LAUNCH my stuff and she reached her SUMMIT and screamed HAVANA!

Tip: go into high roller, when the map gets picked, quickly prestige. If you win you get a lot if cod points. If you lose, than you don't lose anything cause you would have 0 points anyway =D

No.
You just won't be able to edit the playercard until you regularly can.
You still keep all of your unlocked emblems, titles, and playercard pieces you can edit your playercard with.
