I KNOW NONE OF US EXPECTED THIS…

Did you know that they still sold the Honda Accord in Australia? In fact, it has been on sale now for DECADES. And now Honda has brought the latest generation of Honda Accord, the 2024 Honda Accord RS, to Australia – and asking almost Lexus levels of money for one.

Today we’re going to review the 2024 Honda Accord, to see just how good – or bad – it really is. There are certainly a lot of things to love, like its ultra-efficient Hybrid Powertrain, but some of the interior changes have left us scratching our head.

So should you buy one over a Toyota Camry?

In today’s review, we’ll check out the new exterior, move onto the interior to see the changes, talk about some of the practicality wins and misses, of course we will launch it from 0-100km/h to see just how fast it is, and then we’ll give it PLENTY of sauce.

So should you buy the 2024 Honda Accord? Let’s talk about that in today’s review!

Screen seemed to rotate in the same direction as the dial as far as I could tell.

I used to hate the accords bc I considered them like a Camry, but then I discovered this generation, and fell in love, and realized it was nothing like a Camry. This is a truly beautiful car, and being a Honda, you can't go wrong

For those who don’t know, this is a series hybrid. Meaning it’s more closer to a Nissan epower than a Toyota hybrid. The electric motors drive the wheels with the engine constantly charging the battery. The engine will only kick in at high speeds when the Ecu determines it will be at its most efficient. But around town it’s purely electric.

The hybrid tech is actually originally developed by Nissan in their E-Power models. The engine acts as a generator providing power to electric motors which drives the wheels. This setup is more responsive than other hybrids and also efficient.

The interior is from the Chinese market Honda Accord. It is different from the North American version.

I preferred the Accord back before it became big & bloated looking. The Civic today is the size that the Accord used to be.

Honda reliability is great compared to Hyundai. Hyundai have gone full steam ahead on their styling and tech but reliability sucks. I had a transmission error on the second day I picked up my sonata

This car had 3 nobs below that screen. Three incredibly functional and loveable nobs. Why did they remove them?!?!
They were honestly one of the highlights of this infotainment system when I test drove the latest CR-V (since they have the same infotainment).
However, this is still one of the best infotainment systems you can get on a car. It looks amazing.

I have a 24 hybrid touring accord and the first three months were an adjustment. But now Ive come to love how comfortable it is and how quiet it is. Coming from a 2018 LX, this thing drives like a dream. I have some squabbles about the front look but IDC when I'm sitting in the interior that almost feels like a luxury vehicle a class above what I paid.

I understand that coming from someone who tests many cars, your standards might be different from those of a new owner who will only have this one vehicle. Perhaps the term "standard" could be clarified to consider the perspective of a first-time buyer. This way, the review can be even more helpful for them.

My suggestion:

"...For example, instead of saying 'standard features, ' you could mention some specific features that might be considered standard for experienced drivers but might be a highlight for new owners."

This is an unbelievably good reliable car. I still cannot understand Honda's theory behind limiting dealerships around the country, I sold my 2020 CRV because I had to drive 250Km+ for my nearest dealership. Previous gen CRVs were like among the best seller medium size SUVs in Australia. and then removed all the dealerships? whats going on.. can someone explain their strategy? @carsauce?

Squint hard enough through a beer mug and you'd swear it looks like an Audi RS7 from the rear...at least the 3 people this year that end up buying one will think...

Want to like it, but... CVT, too expensive, agency sales model, they sell so few I bet there are no parts here and its just a bit uninspriring.

I do like that clock/wheel thing but it seems poorly implemented. I'd stick with the Sonata 100%

Dear God that CVT whine is pure aids, especially in an upmarket car like this

The rear and sides look good but the front is so bland and ugly. Honda have the ugliest front end designs in the industry. All the new Honda designs are just plain ugly and badly executed.

65k for that, looks more like a 30k car.

Lucky Ozzies still gets it even though they only sell 144 cars for the whole year😅
