Split Leap Downgraded, Do You Agree?

I know for a fact that it’s harder than it looks. I think the B rating was right considering that you have to reach that 180° angle and it’s not easy at all

The problem is not the value itself, as many gymnasts don't count it towards the DV, but its use for B + D connections, as said. Sissones, sheep jumps, stag rings, all disappeared, now the split leap. Routines just get more and more boring as everyone goes for the exactly same skills and combos.

I agree. Too many less than 180 splits. Puts judges in a bad situation that can be interpreted as favoritism or being too harsh depending on if they award it, award it but deduct it or downgrade it to a sissone/split jump.

They are right. My grand daughter just started gymnastics and her first competition all the gymnasts did it.

I think it’s a continuation of them attempting to make beam impossible to make artistic. It’s getting to a point where only extremely difficult skills even matter, making any attempt at artistic interpretation pointless.

Turns should be downgraded too. It's so overrated.
