"remove duplicates" saved my life, thanks for explanation @jessie

Thanks - this ended up being totally correct for me. An unexpected null value in a table caused all of the "0x80040E4E Error - OLE DB or ODBC" errors to appear and they went away once I fixed that issue.

Thank you, Jessie, this worked in my data model => what caused my error was a new LEFT JOIN, that I added in my SQL view, which I subsequently loaded in Power BI (where I connect it to a basic excel file/report)

You are absolutely right! Duplicate value found in one of my queries and that fixed the issue right away. You're a lifesaver thanks!

In my case I got this error by saving a file that didn't belong to the query logic in the same folder I was getting my data from. Removing this file solved the problem.

Hi Jessie

Can you please help me with this ..?

I reinstalled the application many times and I am running .Net Framework 4.8 on my machine, and my PBI version is 32 bit which is compatible with my 32-bit OS. But sill my issue persists.

My exact error messages are mentioned below
( I am working only with the Excel files )

1. "Cannot Load Model - We couldn't connect to your DirectQuery data source or internal model. Double-check that your server and database names are correct and that you have permission to access them.

No OLE DB Error information found."

2. "Something Went wrong- A Task exception(s) were not observed either by Waiting on the Task or accessing its Exception property. As a result, the unobserved exception was rethrown by the finalizer thread.

Note: I can able to load all the Excel files straight away if I don't do any changes to them. I am getting the above error messages once after I performed any changes on the Excel files like merging columns, changing data types, and so on.

Thanks in advance
