It used to be unlimited. For new AT&T customers, or current customers upgrading to a data plan, the maximum amount of data usage allowed before charging extra money is 2GB.

How do you sync in with apple's iPhoto? I only have the 'photos' & 'places' options. Where is the 'faces' option at? How do I get it?

@Conekaine Flpyii is correct - but also do you realise the iPhone is sold in other countries other than the US? A lot of other countries do not have unlimited data, and some charge a 10-50cent per Mb charge for anything over the 1 or 2GB of your plan. Hence, this feature is extremely useful.
